Hi Moda Bake Shop Friends! I’m Melanie from A Bit of Scrap Stuff  and I’m so excited to share a new Moda Bake Shop Project! When I saw the gorgeous Nova fabric designed by Basic Grey - I knew it would be perfect for Simple Stack Quilt. I wanted to keep the gorgeous Nova fabric pieces large- some fabric just can’t be cut tiny! Simple Stack is a beginner friendly pattern that showcases these Nova beautiful prints!  Simple Stack uses (1) Charm Pack and (1) Layer Cake - my favorite pre-cut! I’m ready to sew this quilt again - luckily I have quite the collection of Charm Packs and Layer Cakes :). Let's get quilting!

1 Layer Cake® - Nova by Basic Grey

1 Charm Pack - Nova by Basic Grey

3.5 yards backing fabric

0.625 yards binding fabric

Please read all instructions prior to beginning. Seam allowances are ¼”.

WOF = Width of fabric (at least 42”)

RST= Right Sides Together

---Cutting Instructions---

Choose (36) 10” Layer Cake Squares

Cut from each Layer Cake Square

• (2) 5” x 10” rectangles. Label A. ( Total of 72 )

Choose (30) 5” Charm Squares

Cut from each Charm Square

• (2) 2.5” x 5” rectangles. Label B. ( Total of 60 )

Binding Fabric:

Cut (7) strips 2.5” x WOF

---Row Assembly---

1. Place (2) 5” x 10” A Rectangles RST. Sew together with a ¼” seam. Continue to sew A Rectangles together until 12 A Rectangles are sewn together to create a row. Label Row 1. Row 1 measures 10” x 54.5”. Repeat 5 more times to create Row 3 and Row 5 and Row 7 and Row 9 and Row 11. Press seams to the left.

2. Place (2) 2.5”x 5” B Rectangles RST. Sew together with a ¼” seam. Continue to sew B Rectangles together until 12 A Rectangles are sewn together to create a row. Label Row 2. Row 2 measures 2.5” x 54.5”. Repeat 4 more times to create Row 4 and Row 6 and Row 8 and Row 10. Press seams to the right.

---Quilt Assembly---

• Sew rows together in numerical order with a ¼” seam.
• Block seams should nest.
• Quilt and Bind with preferred method.
• Simple Stack Quilt measures 54.5” x 67.5”.
