Welcome To Moda Fabrics!
VCon? V & Co. at QuiltCon...
VCon? V & Co. at QuiltCon...
We. Are. So. Excited. Vanessa Christenson - aka V & Co. - is going to be in Pasadena for QuiltCon!
So I looked for a picture of Vanessa. A recent one... a current one. Daughter. Daughter's feet. Cat. Son. Son and husband. Vanessa's feet - actually, just her toes. (Nice pedicure.) Quilts. Ombres. Confetti. Vanessa?
Not one. I get that. I'm not judging. (But it goes without saying that we WILL get plenty of pictures of Vanessa in February!)
Vanessa took her beautiful, signature Ombres and scattered gold metallic dots across the color... with a concentration that mimics the color value-saturation of the ombres. Clever? Unique? Genius!
If you'll recall, Vanessa taught several classes at QuiltCon in Austin in 2015 after debuting her collection of Ombres.
The folks at Moda like to say that while Vanessa has done many terrific collections for Moda, her passion has always been for the Ombres. From the first day she spoke to the "powers that be" about creating fabrics, her vision was a collection of Ombres.
Vanessa knew the potential. She knew that fabrics with this gradation of color could transform a simple quilt into a spectacular rainbow of color.
Criss Cross Applesauce by V & Co.
Even a limited palette of five fabrics - colors - would result in something quite special.
Fall Breeze - also by Vanessa. (Maybe the reason we don't see her as much as we'd like is she's so busy creating wonderful new quilts?)
Ombre Confetti Metallic Bundles. Endless Summer - made with Ombres.
When Vanessa shared this seriously gorgeous Jelly Roll Rug made by her friend Kaitlyn, we swooned. We're making one just like it.
For QuiltCon.
Because Vanessa will be there. In the Moda Bake Shop booth. In Pasadena. In February. (February 22 - 25, 2018.)
We can't wait to see her.
Because we want to hear about what happened with the Christenson family cat and the Christmas lights.
Life is always so much more fun when she's around.
