Welcome to the Moda Website!
EQ is Silver!
EQ is Silver!
They're 25 years young today!
How can you not love a company that - aside from making a terrific quilt-design program - titles their newsletter - The Floppy Gazette?
This issue is from 1997 and it announced the launch of their website on the "World Wide Web". It was also back-in-the-days before e-mail newsletters. (Not that I personally remember those days... but I've heard about them...)
They were EQ3 then - now they're EQ7!
And we are helping The Electric Quilt Company celebrate their anniversary - or is it their birthday? Whatever. They're having a year-long party of contests and giveaways to celebrate the occasion and we've celebrating with them.
Giveaways? You could win a copy of EQ7! (And maybe perhaps a wee bit of fabric to use for the quilt you design using EQ7.)
To enter - make a mini quilt using a pattern and fabric by any Moda designer - and you're free to mix and match designers and collections. (But the pattern does need to be from a Moda designer.) Then post a picture of your awesome Moda Mini on Instagram using the hashtag #EQ25ModaMini. Don't forget to tag us - @modafabrics.
The Moda designer patterns represented here are Corey Yoder - Coriander Quilts / Camille Roskelley - Thimbleblossoms / Lisa Bongean - Primitive Gatherings / Edyta Sitar - Laundry Basket Quilts / Sherri McConnell - A Quilting Life.
Make as many minis as you like to get as many entries as you like. And yes, you can add the #hashtag to a Moda mini - designer and fabric - that you've already made. But it has to have been made this year - 2016.
The contest closes on March 25, 2016 at 9:00 am EST. We'll announce a winner by Noon.
Since this is Electric Quilt's anniversary, they're also celebrating with a contest and giveaway. If we're giving away EQ, I think the odds are pretty good that they're giving away a Moda Pre-Cut Prize Package.
Happy Anniversary Electric Quilt Company and EQ7 - you're looking better than ever!
Update: Thank you to everyone who entered both contests! The winner of the #EQ25ModaMini is Jessica - with this Rise and Shine Mini made with Bonnie & Camille fabrics.
Thank you!
Update No. 2. I goofed. I thought the deadline was Midnight last night so a winner was picked a couple of hours earlier than the deadline. It's a very busy morning today and given that EQ needed to know the winner as quickly as possible, I didn't check the deadline. It's my mistake and I'm sorry.
