Season of JOY......

Happy Holidays! I am Sherri Falls from This & That Pattern Co. I am so happy to be included in Moda's 12 Day's of JOY. When I think of what bring me joy, my family, friends and all the great memories of time spent with them come to my mind. My biggest JOY comes from being married to a great guy who supports all my creative (and crazy) ideas........
And JOY in having three great kids who make our life complete.....
I love the statement "Find JOY in the ordinary". It's the simple things in life that can make us the happiest and bring the most JOY. Like the JOY I get from meeting up with good friends for some coffee and a good chat.....(or a trip to a quilt shop!)
A trip to an antique shop brings me JOY when I find Christmas treasures......
Treasures that bring back memories of JOYful Holiday's spent with my grandparents.....
Finishing a project brings me JOY no matter how small......
During the Christmas season I find JOY in making homemade goodies for friends and family like Spiced Pecans.
and Creamy Caramels.
I find JOY in making my friends and family handmade gifts such as a "Short and Sweet" bag for all the little things they want to keep organized, to keep their glasses in or even their double pointed knitting needles.
I love giving handmade gifts and I used to put a lot of pressure on myself about it....losing some of the JOY of making them. Now I make a list and just do as much as possible without driving myself crazy. I have even given a half made gift with an IOU in the box.
Being a pattern designer has brought me much JOY when I hear from quilters who have enjoyed making my patterns and how they are now enjoying the project that they have finished.

I really enJOY seeing the choices of fabrics and the way people make the project their own by putting their special flare on it. When my hubby and I first had kids we barely had two dimes to rub together much less the money to spend on a full quilt. That is one of the reasons I like to design small quilts or bags in a small pattern form to keep them affordable and easy enough to get them finished in a timely manner. I hope my patterns bring you JOY when your sewing as they have me when I design them.
And since it's the season for giving, I have a giveway for you on my blog if you would like to hop over there and share with me what brings you JOY!
Happy Holidays from me to you!
P.S. Be sure to come back to the Cutting Board tomorrow to see what brings Carrie Nelson JOY.
